EPDM Heavy Foils & Acoustic Foams
- Product Details
Product Description
EPDM heavy foils provide high sound insulation through their mass (surface weight 2–10 kg/m²). Combined with open-cell acoustic foams, they form effective sound-insulation composite systems for machine housings, vehicles and buildings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Insulation vs. absorption — what is the difference?
Sound insulation blocks sound (mass, heavy foil). Sound absorption converts sound into heat (porous surface, foam). For best results, combine both.
How much dB insulation does a heavy foil achieve?
A 5 kg/m² heavy foil achieves approx. 25-30 dB sound reduction in the mid-frequency range (500-2000 Hz). Combined with an absorber, 35-40 dB.
Are there fire protection classifications?
EPDM heavy foils are flame-retardant as standard. Certification per DIN 4102-B1 or EN 13501 on request.
