EPDM Edge Protection with Metal Insert
- Product Details
Product Description
Our EPDM edge protection profiles with integrated steel band can be clamped onto sheet metal edges without tools. The steel band provides the required clamping force, the EPDM sheath protects against injury and damage.
For rail vehicles we offer variants per EN 45545-2 (fire protection, halogen-free). Clamping range 0.5 to 3 mm (standard), custom profiles for 3-6 mm sheet thickness on request.

Frequently Asked Questions
What sheet thickness can be clamped?
Standard edge protection profiles cover 0.5–3 mm. For thicker sheets (3–6 mm) we offer custom profiles with a wider clamping range.
Which EN 45545-2 hazard levels do you offer?
The required hazard level must be assessed together with the requirement set, geometry and installation location; available evidence is confirmed for each project.
Can edge protection profiles be bent?
EPDM edge protection is flexible enough for radii from approx. 50 mm. Tighter radii on request with a softer compound.
What does EN 45545-2 mean?
The European fire protection standard for rail vehicles. It governs fire behaviour, smoke development and toxicity of materials in passenger transport.
