Frequently Asked Questions

Which Shore hardness for which application?

Shore A 40: soft, easily compressible, for stop seals. Shore A 60: standard, universal. Shore A 80: firm, for load-bearing shims and spacers.

How does EPDM behave with oils?

EPDM is not oil-resistant. Mineral oils, fuels and greases cause EPDM to swell heavily. For oil-contacting applications we recommend NBR.

Is EPDM available in food-grade form?

Yes, in FDA 21 CFR and EU 1935/2004 compliant compounds — on request.

Can strips be supplied self-adhesive?

Yes, with an industrial acrylic adhesive layer on one or both sides. Bonds to metal, glass, plastic and painted surfaces.
